This excursion is part of the On the Canals program, presented free of charge by Captain JJ LLC, the NYS Canal Corporation and the NYS Power Authority.
Enjoy a small group 2 hour narrated cruise on a quiet, environmentally friendly electric powered boat. Cruise on a Duffy 22” Electric boat, with a maximum of 6 passengers. The boat has comfortable seating and a canopy top, with drop down Eisenglass windows if it rains. Learn about Erie Canal history, construction, engineering, structures, locations and events. .See points of interest while underway – Erie Canal Adventures hire boats and kayak rental. Empire State Trail. CSX Railway (Old NY Central), Clinton’s Ditch, Enlarged Erie, and Barge Canal sites, Macedon Park and Butterfly Trail, Lock 30, old canal confluence, old Lock 60 historical site and various canal wildlife. Experience a round trip through Lock 30, with a narration describing the process of how a lock works.
For your safety, please wear non slip closed toe shoes like sneakers. Dress shoes and flip flops asre not suitable.
Boat is not accessible. Getting to the boat and boarding requires walking over uneven ground, walking on a dock and stepping down into the boat. Not suitable for wheelchairs, walkers or anyone with mobility or balance issues.
Children under 12 must wear a life jacket at all times per NYS law. Child life jackets are available on the boat. Not recommended for toddlers or infants. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
No smoking of any kind, no pets including service animals, no outside food or beverages permitted except water bottles.
No toilet on boat. Restrooms available at marina.
All passengers must sign a waiver and release of liability before boarding. Maxium of 6 passengers allowed by USCG regulations. No exceptions.
Captain JJ LLC reserves the right to refuse boarding to anyone who appears intoxicated, or may jeopardiize their own safety or the safety of others.
Captain JJ LLC in his discretion can cancel a cruise due to weather, mechanical or any safety issues. Ticket holders will be notified as soon as possible in the event of a cancellation.
